Registered Dietitians... Bring Food and Nutrition Expertise to the Table

So who is a Registered Dietitian?
Registered Dietitians (RDs) are THE food and nutrition experts. The expertise, training, and credentials that back RDs are vital for promoting positive lifestyle choices. RDs are employed at hospitals, school systems, health departments, private practices, and many other places.

Are nutritionists and RDs the same thing?
The "RD" credential is a legally protected title. Some RDs may call themselves "nutritionists," but not all nutritionists are RDs. Definitions and requirements for the term "nutritionist" vary from state to state. All RDs have completed specific education and training, including having earned at least a bachelor's degree, completed an accredited, supervised practice program, and passed a national registration exam. Always look for the "RD" credential to ensure you are receiving information from a qualified professional.
